one day i will write a book about

shifted universes

my friend showed me this beautiful writing the other day, in which the author – talking about how lovers become strangers sometimes – stated that people meeting can be described as individual universes colliding for periods of time, leaving your own universe shifted after crossing paths for a shorter while. it can be left changed or even wrecked.

but then, i believe, some universes collide that were meant to stick together. to share, give back and forth growing wisdom. you’re lucky if you find this person, or people – because other than lovers their interest can’t fade. universes that stick together would build a thread of belongingness, i imagine. attaching more that fit the thread, eventually building somewhat a safety net. you’ve grown to be dependent on one another, but in the most beautiful, holding hands while growing up kind of way.

some universes, i believe, only glow to their potential once they have found loopholes that lead two together, one might call the ones they’re “meant to be with”. attached by their own thread of belongingness these universes were duller than they could be. only that their possible brightness was mostly unknown of. loopholes aren’t obvious and extremely hard to find, scary for some. the thread that was built for each of those two universes built the support system, the safety net, that guide the chosen universes together. they’re led to find their “shining armor”.
